C\u2019est l\u00e0 que se trouve la c\u00f4te amalfitaine, dans la province de Salerne. Si de si nombreux vergers de citronniers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 implant\u00e9s dans cette r\u00e9gion d\u00e8s le XI<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle, c\u2019est parce que le prestigieuse \u00e9cole de m\u00e9decine de Salerne a men\u00e9 des \u00e9tudes sur le scorbut, maladie li\u00e9e \u00e0 une carence en vitamine C dont l\u2019un des principaux rem\u00e8des est\u2026 le citron.
