Il est fort probable que celle du <strong>Sex on the Beach<\/strong>, qui n\u2019\u00e9tait sans doute \u00e0 l\u2019origine m\u00eame pas compos\u00e9e de grenadine mais bien de jus de cranberries, rel\u00e8ve du mythe. Mais, je trouve que les l\u00e9gendes sont tout aussi fascinantes que l\u2019histoire, et en font m\u00eame partie int\u00e9grante. Cette ann\u00e9e-l\u00e0, la \u00ab\u00a0National Distribution\u00a0\u00bb, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de distribution d\u2019alcool, lance son nouveau schnaps \u00e0 la p\u00eache, et d\u00e9sire donner un coup de pouce \u00e0 ses ventes. Pour se faire, elle lance un concours et promet une belle r\u00e9compense au bar qui vendrait le plus de schnaps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Ted Pizio, barman du <em>Confetti\u2019s Bar<\/em>, a alors l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019incorporer la liqueur \u00e0 de la vodka, du jus d\u2019orange et de la grenadine. Pour donner un nom \u00e0 son cocktail, Ted r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit aux deux motifs qui am\u00e8nent les visiteurs en Floride\u00a0: le Sex on the Beach est n\u00e9. Si le cocktail semble avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1921 au Harry\u2019s New York Bar de Paris par le barman Fernant Petiot, \u00e0 la demande de l\u2019acteur Roy Barton, trois r\u00e9cits circulent au sujet de la provenance du nom du <strong>Bloody Mary<\/strong>, tous plus fascinants les uns que les autres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Le premier \u00e9voque comme source du nom la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre Mary Tudor, \u00ab la Sanglante \u00bb, cruelle reine d\u2019Angleterre pers\u00e9cutrice, ou bien encore la Bloody Mary de la l\u00e9gende, m\u00e8re infanticide s\u2019en prenant aux enfants qui l\u2019appellent par trois fois devant leurs miroirs \u00e0 la nuit tomb\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0La seconde possibilit\u00e9 serait que ce nom fasse r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 cette \u00ab <em>bloody Mary\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, cette satan\u00e9e Mary, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire l\u2019\u00e9pouse d\u2019Ernest Hemingway, qui l\u2019appelait ainsi car elle ne voulait pas le laisser boire.
